My first post

I remember setting up a blog a long time back somewhere, but could not find it. So here is my attempt to setup a new blog.

I guess the first question people will ask.. what is "fielding at gully" mean. Cricket is my favorite sport. I can remember as a child eating lunch all starting at the lunch session during a test match all the way to the tea session. I would get so engrossed watching the game. Other memories (which my mother always makes it a point to tell people) include sitting in front of the television watching the game with make do pads of newspapers put on with rubber bands.

I played some leather ball cricket when I was in school in India, but not until I move to the bay area in 2000 I took up playing leather ball cricket more seriously. After busting my ACL playing cricket in 2001, 2003 onwards I started playing very regularly with San Mateo Cricket Club and fielded regularly at the gully position. Thats where i got the inspiration for my blog's name.
